Tesla Model 3 Handover Ceremony - Pre-Game Preview

Image result for Tesla Model 3 production units
Let the delivery games begin...

Regarding the car itself, this is what i think it will happen:

Trunk - 420 liters

No HUD

50 kWh version - 225 miles / 360 kms range

75 kWh version - 337 miles / 539 kms range

Prices in Europe starting at 40-42.000€

Now, this is what i wish it would happen:

Trunk - 480 liters

HUD-like system

60 kWh capped version, with 75 kWh sized battery, accessible through payment  - 250 miles / 400 kms range

75 kWh version - 337 miles / 539 kms range

Prices in Europe starting at 36-38.000€

Regarding deliveries in Europe, i would guess the first units will arrive at to the European Union around June 2018, maybe a little earlier in Norway and Switzerland.

Also, i wished for an update announcement to the Tesla Supercharger network, i would be fine with a new 350 kW speed, with the Model 3 being able to charge at that rate and not only the MS and MX...

What to you think/wish? Any thoughts?

  1. Playing the game (and being so sorry to not be able to see the live event being so soon in Europe, specially in Portugal), I would guess:
I think before 238 EPA miles Bolt range, Tesla (Elon) was thinking about a some 50 kWh low end Model 3 (some 215 miles), but now they will give us a low end TM3 with 58 kWh usable battery pack (rated "55 kWh") with some 245 - 250 EPA miles, and a 75 kWh high end TM3 (74 kWh usable, so some 25% more than the low end) with some 300-310 miles EPA range, with prices in Europe starting at 35.000€ without taxes for the poorest country like ours to some 39.000€ for countries like Norway. Norway should their first one in March, then some other European countries in June and September, and I don't see Portugal receiving any one before December.
Tesla could also accelerate or brake European deliveries depending when they will reach the 200.000 Tesla cars sold in USA because of being able to prolong as much as possible the length of timing for the 7.500 ev taxes rebates as long as possible, adjusting the ramp up and deliveries in US accordingly.

    1. Regarding range, i also imagined the 238 miles range of the Bolt would be their target to beat, but unfortunately that didn«t happened.

    2. They don't need to beat the bolt on range in standard spec. They've beaten it in every other way.

  2. Update about Tesla supercharger should be in September with the semi-truck reveal event, my two cents guess...

    1. Yep, they need some really-really-really-fast-chargers (Insane Chargers?)for those beasts...

I am still happy with 215 mile range. Your Euro price of 40 - 42 K seems to be very high. I hope this will also be in Euro 35 K range.
Important thing I am hoping is that the interior space will be much higher than 114 cu. ft. / 3.230 liters.

    1. I also think 36-38k is doable, it will depend on the EUR-USD rate in 2018 and how much extra will Tesla want charge for shipping them to the other side of the Pond.

    2. EU prices will be higher: shipping costs, 10% import tax and 21% VAT/IVA/BTW will lead to a starting price around eur 45.000. Excluding options, including waiting untill Q4 2018 / Q1 2019. I expect a lot of pre-ordered EU cars to be cancelled.
